If you're unable to get organic fruits and vegetables, an acid wash can remove many chemical residues from pesticide sprayed conventional produce.
Ingredients:
Your fresh produce
I cup white vinegar (5% acetic acid)
water
Instructions:
Place your produce in a bowl in the sink.
Pour vinegar over produce.
Fill bowl with water.
Soak hard fruits & veggies for 10-20 minutes, then scrub with a veggie brush and rinse.
For grapes & cherries, soak for 60 minutes.
Notes:
Many patients ask, but rest assured this soak does not impart a vinegar flavour to your food!
