Environmental medicine is the examination of how our environment impacts our health. Studies have shown that toxic chemicals are present in all Canadians tested. Exposure to these chemicals have been linked to a variety of illnesses. If we don’t explore the impact of environmental toxins on your health, we may be missing a big piece of the puzzle. As this training is absent in both conventional and naturopathic medical education, I chose to take this course to fill in the gaps to be truly able to address the root cause of illness.

Fatigue, depression, brain fog, headaches, insomnia and allergies are common symptoms associated with a toxic burden. Helping my patients find and avoid what they have been overexposed to requires playing a detective role. We will discuss which lab tests to order, how to interpret them and how to support you through avoidance, detoxification and elimination of stored toxins.

We all live in this toxic world, but with the right tools we can diminish the health-damaging accumulation of those toxins in our bodies and practice true preventative medicine.

Based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin sterile disposable needles into specific points throughout the body to restore energy, stimulate healing, and promote relaxation. The needles trigger blood flow and the release of neuro-peptides, such as feel good endorphins, that command the body’s self-regulating systems, activate the immune system, and dampen pain. Acupuncture helps a long list of conditions including but not limited to: stress, addiction, headaches, arthritis, and heavy periods.
